Our Vision

About

Our Vision

Love God, Love People. (Luke 10:27)
Make Jesus Known. (Matt 28:19-20)

As we fulfil the great commission in South Normanton. To be disciples who love God and love people.

For some years we have journeyed, from being a quiet church, to one which is ‘crossing over’ from inside the building out into the community.

We’re ‘breaking barriers’ which separate us from our community. And, we’re a ‘church without walls’, with our services broadcast live on our Facebook page, with a global reach, as well as holding outdoor services  and outreach events.

About

Our Values

  • Discipleship
  • Integrity
  • Generosity
  • Intentionality
  • Community

In recent years we’ve been led with vision, strength and compassion, thriving as we pursue our purpose in God; both as individuals, and as a body.

The most important aspect of our vision is to be the hands and feet of Jesus in a practical way, so people in our community can see Him for themselves. With the heart of Jesus at our centre we can demonstrate His love and care, so people can choose for themselves to begin their own journey of a life with Him. This is seen through our outreach, in the help we provide and the support and teaching we deliver.

Discipleship happens in the form of Life groups, ministry to Deaf members, pastoral visiting team, ladies’ and men’s prayer and fellowship groups, an outreach team into local care homes, and an Alpha team. We’re involved in schools and workplace chaplaincy, and lead ‘Open the Book’ school assemblies. The village youth club has also welcomed our input.

As part of our ‘missions’ focus, we run a successful charity shop whose income supports care and education projects in Burkina Faso, South Africa, and India.

By working together with other Churches in South Normanton, we show the unity within the Body of Christ, to South Normanton, in order to present the Gospel. We also have a relationship with the Parish Council, the County Council, and our local MP. We work alongside these groups, when and where possible, for the good of the whole community.
